DS950 - Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
The degree in Doctor of Philosophy programme is awarded based on a successful research work leading to the submission of dissertation. Students are enrolled throughout the year. Research topic proposed must be in consultation with prospective principle supervisor prior to admission into the programme.
Part 1 : Research Methodology and Research Proposal
Candidates are required to attend Research Skills Seminar organized by the Institute of Graduate Studies to strengthen their knowledge on research. It is mandatory for newly registered postgraduate students prior to their Defence Research Proposal.
Part 2-5 : Research and thesis writing
Presentation of research proposal, research work, and thesis writing.
Part 6
Submission of thesis, viva-voce, and correction where applicable.
Candidates are also required to successfully publish a scholarly article in an indexed journal prior to graduation.
Entry Requirement
- A Master degree in dentistry of UiTM or other recognized university, or equivalent qualification acceptable by Senate of Universiti Teknologi MARA, or
- A Master degree in any related disciplines (non-dentistry) or other qualifications or experiences upon acceptable by Senate of Universiti Teknologi MARA, or
- A Bachelor in Science degree ( first class honors ) of UiTM or other recognized university, or equivalent qualification acceptable by Senate of Universiti Teknologi MARA.

The programme extends over a minimum period of six (6) semesters for full time study and six to twelve (6-12) semesters for part time study.
